Structural Violence Scholar
Hello! I am delighted to have you here with me. As a structural violence scholar and artist, I analyze and experience both the shadow and luminous aspects of life. I am interested in how people currently experience the world and how they would like to experience it.
I pursue these questions through four areas of scholarship: motherhood studies, sexual division of labor studies, witch studies, and feminist welfare state scholarship.
Like (matryoshka) nesting dolls, studying mothers led me through a series of nested questions. Questioning how women were disciplined to an unequal division of labor led me to witch studies, the Great European witch hunts of the sixteenth and seventeenth century led me to welfare systems, and, finally, welfare systems led me to questions regarding structural violence and liberatory possibilities.
Like one of Baba Yaga's famous tasks, I welcome your company as I sort the lentils from the ashes.
