Structural Violence Scholar
Hello! I am delighted to have you here with me. As a structural violence scholar and artist, I analyze and experience both the shadow and luminous aspects of life. I am interested in how people currently experience the world and how they would like to experience it.
I pursue these questions through four areas of scholarship: motherhood studies, sexual division of labor studies, witch studies, and feminist welfare state scholarship.
Like (matryoshka) nesting dolls, studying mothers led to questions about the sexual division of labor - how women were disciplined to this unequal division of labor led me to witch studies - the Great European witch hunts of the sixteenth and seventeenth century led me to welfare systems - and, finally, welfare systems led me to questions regarding structural violence and liberatory possibilities.
Like one of Baba Yaga's famous tasks, I welcome your company as I sort the lentils from the ashes.
